Domain Name Registration Information
This page describes how Suncomet Oy , as aOy registration service provider, collects, verifies, publishes, and discloses domain name registration data. These procedures fulfill the obligations set forth in Article 28 of the NIS2 Directive.
What registration information do we collect?
Accurate and complete registration information is collected for each domain name at the time of order. The information collected includes the domain name, registration date, registrant’s name, registrant’s email address and phone number, and, if necessary, the contact information for the administrative contact. The registrant is classified as a natural person or a legal entity. If necessary, strong authentication information is also collected.
The information is stored in the official registry for each domain extension or with the registrar. Suncomet maintain a separate, parallel registration database.
Verifying the accuracy of the data
The completeness and formal accuracy of the information are verified at the time of order, and the email address is confirmed via a confirmation message. The information regarding legal entities is cross-checked against the public business register. In addition, the registry or registrar for each terminal performs its own terminal-specific verification.
The holder is reminded annually to review and update their information. Any information found to be incorrect will be corrected without undue delay.
Privacy Protection and Public WHOIS and RDAP Data
Non-personal data is published in the WHOIS and RDAP lookup services of the registries and registrars in accordance with each registry’s rules. The name, email address, or phone number of a natural person is not published.
Suncomet a privacy protection service in which Suncomet’s information is displayed in public WHOIS and RDAP lookup services instead of the customer’s information. This applies only to public visibility and does not affect the actual registration data stored in the registry or by the registrar, which must always be accurate and complete.
Requests for information based on the law
Entities entitled to access such information may request specific domain name registration details by submitting a legally valid and duly justified request. The request may be submitted using the data security notification form at suncomet or by registered mail to the company’s official address, which is available in the business register.
Requests will be responded to without undue delay and no later than three business days after receipt. Personal data will be disclosed only when the requester has a legal right to do so, and only to the extent necessary for the purpose of the request. Every request and its resolution will be recorded.
